Hi my name’s Nick Hillman, and welcome to the NCHCS website.

I have spent the last 15 years working within the Construction industry as both a Quantity Surveyor and a Project Manager on a variety of different projects ranging from large infrastructure to small builds.

 I have also worked for a variety of clients from large private companies to small contractors.

This experience has given me a valuable insight into both sides of the industry and how each of them approach a project.

It’s a sort of poacher turned
gamekeeper situation for both sides.

Now some people say that they can't afford to employ a consultant but really, can you afford not to?

A good consultant will save you time and money...

I know from my own experience that the savings made by employing these consultants more than outweigh the money paid for them.

This made me question why don't people employ consultants

 So why are people reluctant to use them?

After talking to many of our satisfied customers I discovered that that the main reason was they thought that they would have to employ the consultant from the very start of the project to the end.

 This gave me a brainwave...

 why don't you buy what you need, when you need it. I call it the modular method. It's totally different to how most consultants work.

At the moment they quote for Pre Contract and Post Contract. However you may have the resource in house for some of those works.

We thought why not split the works up into modules with a scope of works ranging from the bare minimum to a full on service. That way you can tailor the service to what you require. If you require any further services you can call on them as and when you need.
